Overview
The SPC Brasil Billing System is utilized by the commercial chambers in all 26 Brazilian states to manage the pricing of SPC's products, services, and customer relationships. Each state has its own market strategy and unique offerings, and this system supports associates in achieving success in their endeavors.
In 2017, SPC made the decision to redesign its billing system. This decision to rethink how associates managed billings took 15 years to come to fruition, resulting in the launch of the new system about one year after the project began.

15 years of legacy
The old billing system had been in operation for 15 years when I joined SPC Brasil. This was one of the first projects I had the opportunity to redesign, and I was specifically hired to work on it. The old system had several issues, as one might expect from a system that had not evolved for so many years.
The biggest problem was the navigation and the organization of functionalities; most of the functions did not follow a logical order, making it harder for users to complete a simple task.
As the development team's first designer, I had the opportunity to create and implement non-existent design processes, such as discovery and research. This project was tested with several users across many states in Brazil, and this process was key to refining the experience and meeting user needs.
This is one of the wireframes created to study the functionalities before designing the final screen.
With a diverse agile team of developers, it took one year to complete the project and three months to deliver the first phase of the MVP. This project represented a significant milestone for SPC, changing how associates managed their offerings and customer relationships.
